Prairie Riders Snowmobile Club
Next Meeting:
March 5, 2009 - 6:30 p.m. at Dockside Restaurant (Candlewick Lake)
The meeting was called to order by President Dan Johnson on February 12, 2009 at Dockside Restaurant in Candlewick Lake at 6:30 p.m. Officers present at the meeting tonight were: President Dan Johnson, 2nd Vice President Carmen Spinelli; Secretary Pat Henninger. Board of Director member present was Rod Kampfranz. The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were approved as presented.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Treasurer: Bills presented for payment included postage, Fairboard rent for the grass drags, gas, and maps. Motion was made and approved to pay bills.
Trail Report: Trails are open. The trails will close March 15, 2009. We are going to order stop signs, stop ahead, T-intersection signs, left/right arrows and we will also order posts. We will plan to put signs together at our work day.
Trip Report: Club trip dates are February 4-7, 2009. You can call 1-800-848-8058 or www.gateway-lodge.com to make your reservation now. You can always cancel if your plans change. We are planning the Friday dinner at Redman’s. All members welcome. Next year club trip dates are February 17,18, 19, 20, 2010. Some of us that have made reservations will need to change them.
Activities: The annual Club Appreciation dinner at Lino’s, April 25, 2009, is for all members and non-members who have volunteered time this year. More details to follow. The annual club picnic is tentatively set for July 24 – 25, 2009 at Rock Cut. Dan will check on available with more details to follow. Club will provide Chicken. On June 13, 2009, we will have the club shed clean-up at 8:00 am. We will look at the possibility of finishing the concrete floor.
Charity: We received a thank you for our donation from the Boone County Pantry. It was decided to make an annual donation to the Luckow family for the children’s education.
Fundraising Report: Fair parking will be August 11 – 16, 2009.
State and Region 5 Report: Discussion included sign inventory, cut back and delay on insurance reimbursement. There is an interest to change the map scale and upgrade the print. Possible cost increases were not available.
Membership Report: There are 52 memberships on file with the state for 2009.
New Business: Discussion included appreciation gifts for landowners. Gas cards were chosen.
