Parents........promote snowmobile safety by enrolling your kids in our snowmobile safety classes!  It's a great way to teach new riders about snowmobile safety and how to respect our sport.  Our classes are open to riders of all ages and skill levels!  This is a required class for anyone born in 1985 or later.  Sign up before the snow comes, these are our only classes.  Very few organizations have classes after the first of the year so don't be left out.  Check out the Safety class page for more information.

Prairie Riders Snowmobile Club

Next Meeting:
February 12, 2009, 6:30 p.m. at Dockside Restaurant (Candlewick Lake)

The meeting was called to order by President Dan Johnson on January 15, 2009 at Dockside Restaurant in Candlewick Lake at 6:30 p.m.   Officers present at the meeting tonight were:  President Dan Johnson,  2nd Vice President Carmen Spinelli; Secretary Pat Henninger.  Board of Directors present were Mike Vore.  The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were approved as presented.  

COMMITTEE REPORTS:                                
Treasurer:  Bills presented for payment included speaker repair parts.  Motion was made and approved to pay bills.

Trail Report: Trails are open. Trails are marked with an alternate route marked due to new seeding.  

Trip Report:  Club trip dates are February 4-7, 2009.  You can call 1-800-848-8058 or www.gateway-lodge.com to make your reservation now.  You can always cancel if your plans change.  We are planning the Friday dinner at Redman’s.   All members welcome.

Activities:  St Jude’s Children Hospital charity ride will be January 17, 2009.  Would like to have a good showing of club members on this ride.  If you can, be at Hammertime  Saturday morning.  Chili, hot chocolate and bonfire are provided for a $20 donation per sled.   A great opportunity for a club ride and benefit  a charity.
            
Fundraising Report:  Fair parking will be August 11 – 16, 2009.

State and Region 5 Report:  They are looking for more interest in family of the year, groomer of the year, and instructor of the year nominations.  Asking clubs to consider nominations.

Membership Report:  There are 47 memberships on file with the state for 2009.  

New Business:  
Sno-Snakes:  Dan – misprint/proofreading on meeting agenda; Carmin S. – showed up on Saturday to set trail signs, instead of Friday, Pam – accident with car/trailer.  

The next meeting will be March 5, 2009 at 6:30 pm at Dockside Restaurant.
