 The meeting was called to order by President Dan Johnson on September 4, 2008 at Dockside Restaurant in Candlewick Lake at 6:30 p.m.   Officers present at the meeting tonight were:  President Dan Johnson, 1st Vice President Ed Gustafson, 2nd Vice President Carmen Spinelli, and Treasurer Mark Loos; Secretary Pat Henninger.  Boards of Directors present were Mike Vore and Murray Quincer.  The Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports were approved as presented.  Bills for the grass drags, trenching supplies, fair parking food, and safety classes were presented for payment. Motion to pay bills was made and second.  

COMMITTEE REPORTS:                                                                                    
Trail Report: Trails are closed.

Trip Report:  Club trip dates are February 4-7, 2009.  You can call 1-800-848-8058 or www.gateway-lodge.com to make your reservation now and still cancel if your plans change.  The new rates are:
Studio Daily rates: Sunday thru Thurs. $74.95; Friday and Saturday $89.95.
Suites Daily rates: Sunday thru Thurs. $84.95   Friday and Saturday $99.95.

Activities:  The grass drags are October 5, 2009.  Setup day is September 27, 2008 at 8:00 am.  Final setup will be on Saturday October 4, 2008 at 8:00 am.  Grass drags are October 5, 2008 from 7:00am - ?.    All volunteers are welcome.  If you can help, please contact Dan Johnson at 815-544-5907 or John Henninger.  

Fund raising Report:  The 2008 Boone County Fair has come and gone.  Nice job to all who helped park cars this year.

State and Region 5 Report:
Membership Report:  There are 55 memberships on file with the state for 2008.

New Business:  This is election year for all officers for 2 year terms.  Nominations will be taken at the November meeting with the election at the December meeting.  New officers will take over at the January meeting.  If anyone is interested in an office, please contact Murray Quincer.  He can answer questions about an office and offer the nomination.
