The Prairie Rider’s Snowmobile Club meeting was called to order on December 6, 2007 at 6:30pm at the Huddle in Belvidere.
Roll call of officers found President Dan Johnson, Treasurer Mark Loos and Secretary Pat Henninger present. Roll call of the Board of Directors found Rod Kampfranz, Pat Kamm and Chairman Murray Quincer present.
The secretary’s report of November 2007 was e-mailed and mailed to members. Motion was made to accept the secretary’s report. Treasurer’s report was submitted and approved.
Bills submitted: Bills for pick-up of the Ranger were submitted. (Gas, tolls, misc supplies to maintain the Ranger), postage, toilets for grass drags, and safety class expenses. Motion was made by John, second by Carmen. Bills were paid.
Trail report –Trail set up went well. Some parts were too wet. Finishing touches will be made on Saturday, weather permitting. We are short on stop signs. We need to get more. Club trip – Gateway Lodge in Land O Lakes, WI. Feb. 6 – 10, 2008. Call 1-800-848-8058 or www.gateway-lodge.com for reservations. (16 rooms reserved) Everyone is welcome to join us.
Safety Classes –Dec. 15. December class is full. We have turned down almost another classful. Grass Drags – October 5, 2008 Fair Parking – August 5 – 10, 2008 New Business – Budget was presented and accepted. Mark will close bank account at Belvidere and set up business at National City as of 2008. New members present: Harry Carter and Pat. Welcome!!
Region – We discussed the tax consequences, Form 990EZ. We will need to get further info from IRS to complete this form and comply with the laws. Maps should be ready next week.
State - Dan received a letter to increase registration fees. They would like to do it in step. They are asking for club votes. There are three choices: 1) We do not support an increase; 2) We do support an increase, but feel we should wait a year; 3) We do support an increase, and feel we should move forward this year. We voted to support the increase, and do it now. Bonnie stated there was a very small convention. Only about 80 in attendance. Next year is our region. The first meeting is January 16, 2008. Convention will be in Rolling Meadows, 50/60’s Sockhop theme. We are doing the centerpieces for this convention.
