The Prairie Rider’s Snowmobile Club meeting was called to order on November 1, 2007 at 6:30pm at the Huddle in Belvidere.
Roll call of officers found President Dan Johnson, 1st Vice President Ed Gustafson, Treasurer Mark Loos and Secretary Pat Henninger present. Roll call of the Board of Directors found Rod Kampfranz, Mike Vore, Pat Kamm and Chairman Murray Quincer present.
The secretary’s report of October 2007 was e-mailed and mailed to members. Motion was made to accept the secretary’s report. Treasurer’s report was submitted and approved.
Trail report –Trail set-up is Friday after Thanksgiving, November 23. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at shed at the fairgrounds. Wear orange. If needed, we will finish up on Saturday. Everybody is welcome. If you have never helped and are interested, please give Dan a call. More volunteers make the job easier and fun. Club trip – Gateway Lodge in Land O Lakes, WI. Feb. 6 – 10, 2008. Call 1-800-848-8058 or www.gateway-lodge.com for reservations. A few spots are still open. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Safety Classes – Nov 17, and Dec. 15. Currently 21 signed up for November class. We had 25 in the class and this class was a little chatty and made it very challenging. Only three girls. DNR held his talk to ½ hour. Will be teaching from old manuals. Everyone will teach what they taught last year.
Charities – A local youngster, Isaac Garcia, has some medical issues and they are having a benefit on November 17, 2007. We made a motion to send $100 and will discuss putting this on our charity list on the budget for 2008.
Fair Parking – August 5 – 10, 2008
New Business – New members present: Harry Carter, Manny Weyermann and Pat. Welcome!! Region – Merle and Bonnie will be reimbursed to go to Convention. Discussion on tax consequences for our club were noted. Further information will be sought. We talked about purchasing a vehicle for the trail set up and fair parking. Dan will send out budget for 2008. We will discuss at December meeting. We are going to look for a vehicle to use for fair parking and grass drags and trail set up. Possible Ranger around $6,000 or $6,500/used. Motion to look around for vehicles, not to exceed $6,500, and executive members will make decision to buy.
Snowsnakes – Ed forgot it. Mark Loos flipped the switch at the grass drags. Pat Kamm came on Monday to tear down fence. It was Tuesday night. Pat and Rod were the only ones there.
Membership Report – There are 55 memberships on file with the state for 2007.
