Because of the installation of a pipeline on the portion of our trail along Route 20 on the north and east of Belvidere our trail route will be different this year.They have planted new grass in this area and used a seeding mat.This matting could get wrap up in your track so avoid this area.Because of the new seeding we will detour this section trail on to Squaw Prairie Road.Look for the signs.

January 4, 2007 Newsletter Prairie Riders Snowmobile Club
Meeting called to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Dan Johnson on January 4, 2007 at the Huddle in Belvidere at 6:30 p.m.
Roll Call of Officers: Present at the meeting tonight were: President Dan Johnson, 1st Vice President Ed Gustafson, 2nd Vice President Carmen Spinelli, and Treasurer Mark Loos; Secretary Pat Hernninger
Board of Directors: Present were Rod Kampfranz, Mike Vore and Pat Kamm
Secretary Report: Secretary report was e-mailed. Rod made motion to accept, Carmen second. Report approved.
Treasurer Report: Mark Loos submitted Treasurer’s Report. Carmen made a motion to approve report, Rod second the motion. Report approved. Bills submitted: Incorporation bill Dues to the state Carmen made a motion to pay bills, second by Carmen. Bills approved for payment by membership.
New Members and Guests New Member: Brad White
COMMITTEE REPORT: Trail Report: Trails are marked everywhere except Fairgrounds. We will get them marked when the rain stops. We had several STOP signs, to put out. Matt made them up, and we put them out.
We used the tub to set the trail signs. It worked very well. Groomer sled is ready, and we used it to mark trails.
Trip Report: 2007 Club Trip - February 7 – 11. Gateway Lodge in Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin. Last check – 17 rooms taken; Great time for all, get your reservations in soon. Call 1-800-848-8058 or www.gateway-lodge.com to make reservations.
Theresa made motion made to have club fish fry on Friday at Redmans. We will get count at February meeting. Should have around 40-45 people. Theresa made a motion to budget $500 to pay for dinner. Everyone will chip in for the tip and if we should run short. John second. Budget approved.

Safety Education Classes The final class was Dec. 16, 2006. There were 25 students. Green Giant thanked us for the leaving the building in great shape. State and Region 5 Report: Trail maps are ready.
The region would like our support in the Scholarship program. If you know of anyone in college, they can write an essay about snowmobiling. Scholarship awards are $1000, $750, and $500.
They would also like us to support the Dealer of the Year award. Possibly nominating a dealer. We can look over the dealer requirements.
The state also talked about the Search and Rescue Program. We are appointing Rod to chair this post, as he is president of snow patrol.
There has been one death in Region 2 on the trails already this year. A gentleman hit a post on a non-marked trail.
Boulder Junction Unity Ride is March 16 – 19, 2007.
Kane County Cougars baseball game is in June 2007. Further info is available from Bonnie and Merle. Cost is $20.00.
The Snowmobile Safety letter will go out in August or whenever we choose. We have 454 snowmobiling addresses in the county and surrounding area. We will include membership info and general snowmobiling safety and news. We have to pay postage. Membership Report: There are 52 memberships on file with the state for 2006. Old Business:
