Because our January club meeting would fall on New Years day we will change the date of that meeting. The February meeting will also be changed because it falls during our club trip to Land O Lakes.

December 8, 2006 Newsletter Prairie Riders Snowmobile Club
Meeting called to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Dan Johnson on December 8, 2006 at the Huddle in Belvidere at 6:30 p.m.
Roll Call of Officers: Present at the meeting tonight were: President Dan Johnson, 1st Vice President Ed Gustafson, 2nd Vice President Carmen Spinelli, and Treasurer Mark Loos Board of Directors: Present were Mike Vore and Pat Kamm
Secretary Report: Secretary report wad e-mailed and sent to all along with last months. Merle made motion to accept, Carmen second. Report approved.
Treasurer Report: Mark Loos submitted Treasurer’s Report. Carmen made a motion to approve report, Al second the motion. Report approved.

Trail Report:
Trails closed. Official opening on December 15, 2006.
Need to set up Garden Prairie trails Saturday. Meet 9:00 a.m. at the shed. The more help we have, the quicker it will get done. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Motion was made to purchase a tub sled to help with marking of trails by Pat Kamm; second Murray. Approved.
Trip Report: 2007 Club Trip - February 7 – 11. Gateway Lodge in Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin. Last check - 12 rooms taken; 5 left. Great time for all, get your reservations in soon. Call 1-800-848-8058 or www.gateway-lodge.com to make reservations.
New Trail Advisor – Don. Trail maps to printer. Will be available next meeting.
Charities: Activities: Christmas dinner at Machine Shed, Sunday December 10, 2006 5:00 pm. If you haven’t called Dan on count, please let him know tonite.
Safety Education Classes The November 18, Safety Class went well. There were 27 students. The final class date is Dec. 16, 2006.
John Henninger offered a sponsor for the Safety Classes as a community service project. Prairie Grange would donate $200 per class next year towards expenses. John made a motion; Carmen 2nd. Motion approved. State and Region 5 Report: New trail advisor, named Don Corty covering regions 1,2 and 5. He seems very energetic and ready to handle any questions you may have. Trail maps went to the printer. They will have two colors instead of four. Printing costs have escalated and this will help defray the total cost. They will be available at the December meeting.
Legal action fund is low. We have been asked to budget a donation to help the cause. We will be getting more insurance money back this year and they asked if we could contribute part of this to their fund.
Kane county Cougars baseball game info is available from Bonnie and Merle. This outing is in June 2007.
We will bring up safety letter mailing at January meeting. We will include membership info.
Bonnie suggested composing a letter to the Region regarding the changes during the Grass Drags. We talked of a fee for everyone.
2007 Convention will be held in Naperville and has a Luau theme.
Membership Report: There are 54 memberships on file with the state for 2006. Old Business:

Club is incorporated. We have been paying dues since 1975!
