The next club meeting is on December 4, 2008 6:30 pm at the Dock Side Restaurant in Candlewick Lake.  Our meetings are open to the public so please drop in and see what we are all about. There is good food before hand so come out and enjoy a meal.  Map

March Newsletter of The Prairie Riders

Meeting Called to Order:
The meeting was called to order by President Dan Johnson on March 9th, 2006 at The Huddle in Belvidere at 6:30 P.M.

Roll Call of Officers:
Present at the meeting tonight were (President) Dan Johnson, (1st Vice President) Ed Gustafson, (2nd Vice President) Carmen Spinelli, (Treasurer) Mark Loos, and (Secretary) Cindy Kampfranz.

Board of Directors:
Present were Rod Kampfranz, Mike Vore, and Pat Kamm.

Secretaries Report:
Everyone received their copy of the secretaries report, either by e-mail, or mail.
Carmen Spinelli made a motion to approve the report, and Carmen Domanico second the motion. The report was approved.

Treasurer's Report:
Carmen Domanico made a motion to approve the Treasurers report. Carmen Spinelli second the motion. The report was approved.

Bills To Be Submitted:
Rod Kampfranz made a motion to pay the bills. Becky Loos second the motion, and the bills were paid.

New Members and Guests:
None at the meeting tonight.

Committee Report:

Trail Report:
The trails are closed. Need to have a tear down date.
Make sure if you pick up signs or fencing, please get all materials back to our building at the Fairgrounds.

Trip Report:
The Club voted to once again stay at the Gateway Lodge in Land O Lakes, Wisc. For our 2007 trip. Dates are Feb. 7th - 12th, 2007. You will be responsible for making your own reservation. Make sure you tell them that you are with our club. Becky Loos will be reserving so many rooms for them to hold. We will have to send them a check to hold the rooms.

Activities:
The Appreciation Dinner will be held at Lino's in Rockford on April 1st (no joke). Cocktails at 6:30, dinner at 7:00. The dinner is for all club members, and non-club members who helped out an any club event, or helped the club throughout the year. Ed Gustafson will be contacting you. If he hasnt, make sure to call him. 815-544-2723.
The club is looking into a few summer events to have. Mike Vore suggested we do a moonlight bowl some Saturday Night. We are also discussing a Summer Campout, but plans are still in the makings.

Charities:
Mark Loos is working on getting the Landowner Appreciation Gift Cards. The club purchases gas cards to all the Landowners. If it weren't for them, we would not have a trail system.

Safety Education Classes:
Rod Kampfranz will let us know his scheduled dates for 2006 classes.

Fundraising Report:

August 8 - 13, 2006

Grass Drags:
October 8th, 2006

Miscellaneous Reports:

Region 5 Report:
Grants are due to Jane Austin by April 15th. Also, heard through the grapevine that we may be losing our Trail Adviser, John Seagers. They started working on a committee for the maps, for next season. The region re-booked their trip for Boulder Junction, Feb. 16th - 18th.

State Report:
Discussed was the super fund raiser tickets being sold in the spring and summer, verses the fall. Also, keeping the tickets the same price. The club dues may be raised. A proposal to close the State Office, and have everything worked out of Jane Austin's home was discussed.

Membership Report:
There are 54 members on file with the State of Illinois for 2006.

Old Business:
We need to get grass seed planted out there at the Fairgrounds!

New Business:
Marengo Club is talking about disbanding. Discussion to continue on this. Check out the new calendar on our web site! If you would like to add a date, contact Dan Johnson, or our webmaster, Mike Peters.

Letters:
George Gore sent a nice Thank you letter to the club. He was a guest of Murray Quincers and stated what an awesome club we have, and how much fun he had with all the members on the trip.
